Kunstverein is relocating to a bigger space! This new, central location on the Pieter Baststraat will be our home for the next *10* years. It will have the room to house our multi-platform program and publishing activities as well as the space to increase our capacity for in-person events. We’re so wide-eyed and all kinds of excited about its potential. But first, we need to raise a minimum of €20,000 to help cover the monumental cost of its renovation.
It’s rare for us to make a direct crowdfunding appeal, but there is no way around it this time. If you have appreciated our work and if you have the means, please consider contributing. We’ve come up with a mutually beneficial way in which you could help. Here’s what we had in mind:
Until September, you have a chance to adopt 1m2 (or more) of Kunstverein’s floor for just €175, 100% tax deductible too! In return for your generous contribution, you will receive a unique edition by artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles, to be picked up at the official opening party in September.
Ukeles, the author of the groundbreaking ‘Manifesto For Maintenance Art’, has been committed to rethinking how institutions are organised and maintained since the 1960s. We’ve previously collaborated with Ukeles when we co-published her monographic book Seven Work Ballets. To us, it feels extra befitting that an artist who contributed to our programming in the past is helping lay the groundwork, literally in this case, for our programming in the future. So, if you can—or if you’re simply a fan of Mierle Laderman Ukeles—please support.
